Background information & Investigation
notes

The O. P. Fannin Georgia School for the Deaf
was founded in 1846 by O. P. Fannin with four deaf
students who met in a one-room log cabin. When
Fannin Hall was erected in 1848, the number of
students had increased to fourteen. The
establishment of this school brought new life to a
helpless and hopeless segment of our society - deaf
children.
Closed from 1861-1865 for the
Civil War, during which the school was used as a
Hospital for wounded soldiers.
Nestled
in scenic Vann’s Valley, named for a Cherokee
chieftain, the City of Cave Spring was established
in 1832 by settlers of English and Scotch-Irish
ancestry. The town was named for the limestone
spring which produces 2 million gallons of water
daily inside a cave in the center of the village.
Churches were begun as soon as houses were built,
and in 1838 the Cave Spring Baptist Church appointed
an education committee with the purpose of
establishing a permanent school.
The school had never been investigated for
paranormal activity but there have been some
reported activities experienced in and around the
buildings.

INVESTIGATION
Our team arrived around 3pm. The Group leader
conducted an orientation and walked everyone through
the buildings for acclamation and to observe any
potential hazards. The team then setup the equipment
and went to the local restaurant while the equipment
ran for preliminary footage. While setting up the
equipment, one member had his necklace mysteriously
broken from his neck, see his report describing the
event. During this time, pre-investigation data was
also obtained including EMF readings, temperature
and humidity readings throughout the site
(buildings)
Once everyone returned from the restaurant, the
Psychic / Sensitive team was deployed separately.
When they finished their walk through, they
individually and separately gave their
report/interview to the group leader (Deborah).
As investigation started, teams were sent out to
the several different areas and buildings and set on
a rotation schedule. The FLIR Thermal imaging
technician rotated between the teams to allow
everyone to experience his equipment.
Upon rotation, the individual teams reported any
experiences and observations they encountered,
separate from the other teams. The interviews were
compiled and compared.
There were a few areas where experiences were
common and experienced by several members on
separate teams. To include having their hair pulled,
sighting “shadow people”, being touched, hearing
noises/voices and getting physically ill.
